ご存知の方もいると思いますが、ジョージ・カーリンというアメリカのコメディアンが最愛の奥さんを亡くした時に友人に送ったメッセージだそうです。
何度読み返しても毎度刺さります 笑

「ビルは空高くなったが　人の気は短くなり
 高速道路は広くなったが　視野は狭くなり

お金を使ってはいるが　得る物は少なく
たくさん物を買っているが　楽しみは少なくなっている

家は大きくなったが　家庭は小さくなり
より便利になったが　時間は前よりもない

たくさんの学位を持っても　センスはなく
知識は増えたが　決断することは少ない

専門家は大勢いるが　問題は増えている
薬も増えたが　健康状態は悪くなっている

飲み過ぎ吸い過ぎ浪費し　笑うことは少なく
猛スピードで運転し　すぐ怒り

夜更かしをしすぎて　起きたときは疲れすぎている

読むことは稀で　テレビは長く見るが　祈ることはとても稀である

持ち物は増えているが　自分の価値は下がっている
喋りすぎるが　愛することは稀であるどころか憎むことが多すぎる

生計のたてかたは学んだが　人生を学んではいない
長生きするようになったが　長らく今を生きていない

月まで行き来できるのに　近所同士の争いは絶えない

世界は支配したが　内世界はどうなのか

前より大きい規模のことはなしえたが　より良いことはなしえていない

空気を浄化し　魂を汚し
原子核を分裂させられるが　偏見は取り去ることができない

急ぐことは学んだが　待つことは覚えず
計画は増えたが　成し遂げられていない

たくさん書いているが　学びはせず
情報を手に入れ　多くのコンピューターを用意しているのに
コミュニケーションはどんどん減っている

ファーストフードで消化は遅く
体は大きいが　人格は小さく

利益に没頭し　人間関係は軽薄になっている

世界平和の時代と言われるのに　家族の争いはたえず
レジャーは増えても　楽しみは少なく

たくさんの食べ物に恵まれても　栄養は少ない

夫婦でかせいでも　離婚も増え
家は良くなったが　家庭は壊れている

忘れないでほしい
愛するものと過ごす時間を

それは永遠には続かないのだ
